The Northern Philatelic Library is staffed by volunteers 5 days per week from 10am to Noon. Because of the nature of our hobby each of these volunteers has a different set of expertise. The following is a list by the days of the week of the volunteers who are on duty at the Library and the expertise that they are happy to share with you.
Monday:
- Mark – Expert on US tagging, luminescent ink and modern paper varieties. General US expertise on modern varieties such as die cut variations and many types of EFOs (Errors, Freaks and Oddities). Familiarity with tagging types associated with many foreign countries. Able to assist with identifying luminescent ink and paper varieties on foreign stamps. Skilled in use and demonstrating analysis tools available in the Philatelic Lab.
- Rudi – German stamps and the German Philatelic Society; can translate German to English and help with NORPs Library sources;
also – WWII and post WWII Censorship (German & Allied); German Air mail
1919-1945;
Tuesday:
- Bruce – Extensive experience as stamp dealer; Expert on counterfeit stamps especially in the US.
- ???
Wednesday:
- Jerry – Washington Franklins; General expert in identifying stamps across the world.
- Pat – Minnesota covers, Alaska cover, ???
Thursday:
- Brian – Early U.S. postal history and stamps, Iowa postal history, U.S. Great American series, Ceylon stamps and postal history.
- Tim – Australian stamps especially pre-decimal, Minnesota covers, New Zealand stamps and covers, USS Ship covers, Railroad Postoffice covers and many British Commonwealth countries.
Friday:
- Ardis – ???
- John – San Marino stamps, French stamps, Great Britain stamps, ???
